Sharing A Beeceptor Endpoint

Beeceptor offers a convenient way for you to manage your endpoints by inviting team members to collaborate with you. Once your team members have access to the endpoint, they will be able to use all of the platform's features, including accessing the dashboard, intercepting requests, creating or modifying mocking rules, and viewing request history. There are no limits to the number of users you can invite, so you can easily work together with your team members to streamline your workflow and improve productivity.

Collaboration & access roles

Inviting a Team Member

To manage your sharing settings, simply navigate to the 'Your Endpoints' page via the menu and click on 'Sharing'. From there, you can easily send invitations to your team members. When you send an invitation to a team member, they will receive an email notification containing all the access changes that have been made.

The invited member will need to create a Beeceptor account to accept the invitation and obtain access to the endpoint.

User Roles and Permissions

Beeceptor’s Role-based Access Control (RBAC) system helps you manage access to endpoints and features with fine-grained control. Each role is designed to serve a specific level of responsibility and visibility, ensuring that users have access to only what they need.

Read-Only

Users with Read-Only access can:

  • View mocking rules and configurations
  • Monitor incoming requests
  • Search and explore the request history for any endpoint (requires Team plan and above)

They cannot modify any settings, rules, or data. This role is ideal for team members who need visibility into the mock behavior but should not be making any changes.

Write

The Write role provides permissions for users to actively manage mocking behavior and data. Users with this role can:

  • Create, update, or delete mocking rules
  • Modify state data used in dynamic mock responses
  • Review and search request logs

This role is suited for developers and testers who are working hands-on with endpoint behavior and require control over mocking logic.

Manager

The Manager role grants comprehensive access to all endpoint features, except billing. Managers can:

  • Do everything in the write role.
  • Configure endpoint settings
  • Manage API keys (requires Team plan and above)
  • Invite or remove team members (requires Team plan and above)

Managers are ideal for team leads or project owners who need broad control but are not responsible for payment or billing tasks.

Owner (Single Endpoint)

When an endpoint is upgraded to a paid plan, the user becomes its Owner. This role includes full administrative privileges, such as:

  • Access to all features, per the subscribed plan.
  • Billing management and viewing invoices
  • Control over usage limits and subscription settings

Ownership is tied to the user who initiated the subscription. Ownership can be transferred to another verified user upon request and successful verification by the support team.

Organization Admin

For teams on an Enterprise Plan, a user can be assigned as an Organization Admin. This role is designed for centralized control and compliance:

  • View access to all endpoints created under the same email domain
  • User management across the organization
  • Read-only audit access to endpoints for governance or security reviews

Organization Admins are typically IT or DevOps leads responsible for managing multi-user environments.

Ownership Transfer

In most cases, there is no need to transfer endpoint ownership, as the Manager role already covers all features except billing. However, ownership transfer may be required in specific scenarios such as:

  • Email/account changes
  • Transfer of ownership to an organization-wide account
  • Change in team structure or responsibility

If you need to initiate a transfer of ownership, please contact the Beeceptor support team. Ownership changes are handled manually to ensure proper verification and security. The support team will guide you through the required step.
